The Alpine Club of CanadaThe Alpine Club of Canada (ACC) has worked to protect our mountains for over 100 years. The ACC's environmental initiatives promote systems that reduce impacts on the surrounding natural environment and protect human health. The initial concept for BEES had its roots at an ACC Facilities Committee meeting in September of 2005. Currently, the Alpine Club of Canada supports BEES financially through administration services and by serving on the BEES steering committee. Carl Hannigan, VP Facilities, is the ACC's representative on the committee.

IP3 is devoted to an improved understanding of hydrology and weather systems in cold regions, particularly Canada's Rocky Mountains and western Arctic. Cold regions hydrology and weather are of key importance to applied water management and policy development for agriculture, communities, recreation, sustainable industrial development, and environmental conservation in western and northern Canada.
