PROJECT DIRECTOR

The Project Director of BEES is Karen Rollins. Karen has been involved with BEES from its conception in 2005, working on the business plan and governance options, and then later coordinating projects. She is the former Chair of the Energy, Water, Waste Management Committee for the Alpine Club of Canada.

With a strong entrepreneurial background, Karen has achieved notable success in operating her own consulting business (IAQm) for the past ten years. Her education and work experience is diverse and includes architecture, building science, indoor air quality, chemistry, microbiology and environmental management. She holds a Master's Degree in Environmental Design (Environmental Science) from the University of Calgary. The American Society of Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) has named her a distinguished lecturer for the 2007-2009 term.

Since 2006 Karen has lectured for the University of Calgary's Continuing Education’s Management Certificate Program. Karen is a member of CaGBC (Canada Green Building Council), which promotes sustainable building design and construction.
